Dr. William David Fox’s journey into the realm of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is built upon a strong educational foundation and an unwavering commitment to his patients. A proud alumnus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Dr. Fox attained his B.A. in 1974, following which he pursued his passion for dentistry at the University of Tennessee Memphis College of Dentistry, graduating in 1977. His relentless pursuit of excellence led him to the esteemed Duke University Medical Center and VA Hospital in Durham, NC, where he undertook his internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, completing in 1985.
Having served as a Dental Officer in the US Navy from 1978-1981, Dr. Fox transitioned into private practice in 1985 and has been serving the Chattanooga community ever since. Recognized for his proficiency and expertise, he became a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1990. Dr. Fox’s commitment to the profession is evident in his active memberships in numerous professional societies, including the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the Chattanooga Area Dental Society, among others. His dedication doesn’t end there; he is an integral member of the Tennessee Valley Dental Study Club, fostering education and collaboration among dental professionals.
